HVR has a variety of techniques to ensure that replication is continuous and uninterrupted. One technique is independent jobs. If data is replicated to many databases, replication for each database is handled independently. Another feature for high availability is 'on-line' refresh. This makes it possible to add new tables and new database targets to the replication scheme without interrupting the replication stream.

Graphical User Interface

For maximum operator control, HVR has a Graphical User Interface. This interface is implemented as a JAVA applet. It provides a real-time animated overview of all replication jobs. This ensures complete transparency. If a replication problem occurs then a corresponding icon changes color. Clicking the icon will then reveal a clear and complete error message. Drag and drop control is provided to configure replication scheduling. For example a timeout attribute can be dropped onto a job in order to send an alert if the replication job's performance is below the acceptable level specified in a Service Level Agreement.
