Connect Isolated Legacy Systems
Technological progress and new developments in the business will inevitably leave some systems isolated and deprecated. In some cases these legacy systems can best be modernized (see Zero-downtime migrations) but in many cases the existing investment can be protected and leveraged by using HVR to connect them back in realtime to the other core systems.
Reconnecting Isolated Systems
An IT design that incorporates legacy systems (sometimes called a "brownfield architecture") can be configured with HVR to reconnect previously isolated systems.- HVR is able to replicate between different datamodels.
- Business logic to perform transformations can be injected inside the replication stream.
- HVR is not restricted to one business need. The solution can simultaneously address multiple requirements inside the enterprise, such as High Availability, Business Intelligence or Real-time migrations.
- Data can go in both directions (bi-directional replication). If changes happen simultaneously in multiple databases then HVR guarantees consistency by detecting and resolving collisions.
- Change data capture from the DBMS logging system ensures sub-second latency between connected systems.
- Realtime feeds of data between systems can replace clumsy nightly batch-files which are expensive to manage and cause frequent data quality problems.
- HVR supports multiple database solutions which can replicate between each other; Oracle, SQL Server and Ingres.
- HVR is quick & easy to use and manage, producing maximum return on investment for the business.
