Anthony Brooks-Williams, CEO
Anthony joined HVR Software as CEO in April 2016 and brings with him a proven track record of scaling global enterprise software companies.
Prior to joining HVR Software, Anthony was SVP Worldwide Sales & Services at RainStor, where he built field teams and drove the growth that ultimately lead to the company’s acquisition by Teradata. He continued to lead the business at Teradata.
Before that, Anthony was founder and CEO of Coherent Software Corp, which offered auditing and recovery solutions based on SQL Server log-based capture. He remained with the company after it was acquired by GoldenGate in 2005, driving key partnerships and building its SQL Server replication team, and continued in his post after Oracle acquired GoldenGate in 2010.
Outside of work, Anthony loves spending time with his wife, kids and pets, as well as playing golf and watching rugby.
Jonathan Weiss, CFO
Mark Van de Wiel, CTO
Mark brings a strong background in data replication as well as real-time Business Intelligence and analytics to his role here at HVR. Most recently, at Actian Corporation, Mark led a team of high performing solution architects. Prior to that, Mark developed extensions to Oracle’s GoldenGate replication product.
Throughout his 15+ year career, Mark has expanded his responsibilities from consultant to product management and business development. Mark holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
When Mark isn’t thinking about data replication and analytics, he’s running marathons. In fact, he’s run more marathons than his age in years and boosts his total by running in the San Francisco marathon each year.
Steve Sheil, Chief Architect
Steve Sheil founded HVR and spearheads the design and architecture of HVR’s “network stream” architecture. Prior to HVR, Steve worked at Actian (formerly Ingres) and with PostNL as technical architect on major projects: for large-scale geographically distributed databases, and for orchestration of complex processes across an enterprise’s distributed resources. Steve has an honors degree in Mathematics from the University of Bath in England.
He was born in the UK but moved to Amsterdam after meeting his future wife… Steve’s father also designed industrial pumps for new types of business; in his case it was hydraulic pumps which allowed the oil & gas industry to explore new types of resources.
Chris Lawless, SVP Operations
Chris joined HVR in 2019 as Senior Vice President of US Operations.
His extensive background in data integration started at Oracle as a DBA trainer. He worked in support, and product management with GoldenGate prior to acquisition by Oracle, then continued as a product manager for four years. At his most recent place of employment, Dbvisit, Chris managed the support and development teams along with product management before moving over to managing the Global Sales team for the past two years.
Chris resides in the wilds of New Hampshire with his wife Susan (whom he met while living in Russia), three children, two dogs, one cat and a bunch of chickens. Chris loves to hike, canoe and read.
John Sedleniek, SVP Global Sales

John Sedleniek, SVP Global Sales
John leads all of HVR’s sales activities, account management and strategic reseller relationships in North America. He has 20 years of sales and executive sales management experience in the enterprise software and technology services industries.
Prior to joining HVR, John led Veraction’s Direct Sales Team as Vice President of Sales. Under his leadership, Veraction consistently delivered high-value client solutions and exceeded annual revenue targets. In addition to his experience with early stage startups, John has held various sales leadership positions at Oracle, Exodus and Genuity. John is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
When he’s not helping customers develop data replication solutions, you can find him cheering on his two boys, running twenty-minute miles, or telling the same jokes over and over to his wife, Nicole, who still laughs.
Meredith Stowe Christie, VP Marketing
Todd McGrail, VP of EMEA Sales
With more than 10 years of experience successfully selling data integration software, Todd leads HVR’s sales activities in EMEA . Before joining HVR, Todd was the Teradata Global Account Director for one of the largest global banks. At RainStor, before its acquisition by Teradata, Todd was first man on the ground in EMEA, concluding deals with the largest global banks. Todd was also with ACI Worldwide, a global GoldenGate reseller, later joining GoldenGate as one of their first EMEA Sales Directors, and then working with Oracle after it acquired GoldenGate.
Hailing from Canada, Todd has spent the last 20 years living and working in the UK. He attended the University of Western Ontario, Canada. When Todd isn’t working, he’s preparing for his retirement by driving his son to school football games all over the country.
Joe deBuzna, VP Product
As VP of Product, Joe utilizes his expertise in successfully bringing real-time data software to market. Joe has a B.A. in Information Systems from Radford University and began his career as a developer and DBA working on one of the original real-time data integration systems: the prototype global monitoring system for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty in Washington D.C.
He later managed Oracle GoldenGate and Quest Shareplex up to and during the height of their respective success. Prior to his role as VP of Product, Joe built the highly successful global sales engineering team at HVR.
Joe is an avid reader, plays piano and guitar, runs the occasional marathon, and can often be found at the beach digging in the sand and surfing with his wife and two children in Southern California.
Simon Faas, VP Development
As the VP of Development, Simon oversees all product development initiatives. Prior to his role as VP of Development, he led Global Technical Support, lending his deep HVR experience and expertise to customers around the world. Simon holds a Masters’s degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences from Utrecht University.
Simon is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. When not working, Simon likes to take his boat for a spin on the canals, lakes, and coastal waters of the Netherlands.
Henk Snippe, Director
Henk brings more than 25 years of global IT experience in diverse senior management roles within various industries. Henk was HVR Software’s CEO from 2012 to April 2016 and implemented the strategy that positioned HVR to scale. Prior to that, he was a senior management consultant at Sogeti, responsible for enterprise data replication solutions.
Henk holds an MBA degree from the Rotterdam School of Management and resides in The Hague.
Advisory Board
Eric Fish, Advisory Board Member
Eric brings over 30 years of software development and architecture experience to HVR. In 1995, Eric founded GoldenGate Software, producer of database replication software known today as Oracle GoldenGate. He led the organization through rapid growth until its acquisition by Oracle in 2009. During this time, Eric held a variety of roles including chief software architect, CTO, and CEO. He also authored several patents.
Wayne Boyle, Advisory Board Member
Wayne brings more than 30 years of experience in enterprise data warehousing and data management to HVR’s Advisory Board.
Previously, he served Teradata as the Vice President of Technology and Strategy as well as in technical and managerial positions that included CTO and executive positions in engineering and product management. Wayne’s many accomplishments at Teradata include: establishing Teradata’s big data, analytics and cloud strategies including M&A activities, leading the engineering of the Teradata’s first scalable Unix based systems, developing the strategy and providing technology guidance for active data warehousing, and driving the delivery of Teradata’s appliance product portfolio.
Throughout his tenure at Teradata, Wayne was also deeply involved in developing a partner ecosystem to complement Teradata’s product portfolio, leading technical initiatives with SAS, Tableau, Qlik Technologies and SAP.
