This section lists the Capabilities of HVR when using 'Kafka'. For more information about the pre-requisites, access privileges, and other configuration requirements, see Requirements for Kafka.

Capture

HVR does not support Capture changes from location on Kafka.

Hub Database

HVR does not support Hub Database on Kafka.

Integrate

HVR supports the following capabilities on Kafka:

  • Integrate changes into location (Kafka version 0.8).
  • Continuous integration (Integrate without /Burst) (Kafka version 0.8).
  • Action Transform /SoftDelete (Kafka version 0.8).

HVR does not support the following capabilities on Kafka:

  • Integrate with /Burst.
  • Integrate with /BurstCommitFrequency.
  • Action TableProperties with /DuplicateRows for continuous integration.
  • Continuous Integrate with /OnErrorSaveFailed (without /Burst).
  • Disable/enable database triggers during Integrate (/NoTriggerFiring).
  • Creation and update of HVR state tables.
  • Integrate with /DbProc.

Bi-directional Replication

HVR does not support Bi-directional Replication on Kafka.

Refresh and Compare

HVR supports the following capabilities on Kafka:

  • Hvrrefresh into target location (Kafka from version 0.7 to version 0.8).

HVR does not support the following capabilities on Kafka:

Other Capabilities

HVR supports the following capabilities on Kafka:

  • Use distribution key for parallelizing changes within a table (ColumnProperties /DistributionKey) (Kafka from version 0.7 to version 0.8).
  • International table and column names where DBMS is not configured with UTF-8 encoding (Kafka from version 0.7 to version 0.8).

HVR does not support the following capabilities on Kafka:

  • Lossless binary float datatypes. No dataloss when transporting float values (because base 2 fractions are never converted to base 10).
