Table Creation & Initial Data Load

Change Data Capture
Replicate data in real-time with minimal impact. Change Data Capture (CDC) is how HVR replicates data changes in real-time. As its name implies, CDC identifies changes and can then synchronize incremental changes with another system or store an audit trail of changes.
CDC comes in multiple flavors, including trigger-based and log-based. HVR gives you the option to use both types. However, log-based CDC is superior since it can be applied to all possible scenarios, including systems with extremely high transaction volumes. Our product includes log-based CDC for all supported relational database sources.
Log-Based CDC captures changes and moves only the changed data, creating minimal impact on the source systems.
HVR directly reads the logs on the file system allowing highly efficient change data capture, supporting large volumes of data.
Log-Based CDC capture supports more data operations such as truncates and enables support for DDL capture.
Data Validation & Live Compare
Be confident your data is accurate and in sync. Our data validation feature tells you whether your data is in sync and alerts you if there’s a problem.
This validation feature supports many relational database management systems. When data types are compatible, the differences are managed automatically. You can also manually specify transactions to easily compare incompatible data types, differing data structures, and alternative naming.
Data validation is taken to the next level of measuring data accuracy with our Live Compare feature.
1. Live Compare
Merge the changes in the HVR transaction files with any detected differences based on selecting the data from either side of the data flow. You can then give an exact answer on whether two systems are in sync, irrespective of in-flight changes.
2. Two-Pass Approach
Used to validate if databases are in sync or not, regardless if they are being replicated with HVR or any other replication tool.
3. File Compare
Perform a direct reading of the files instead of relying on Hive external tables to retrieve the data. This new approach no longer requires implicit data rounding and truncation as part of coercion and is more scalable than the existing approach using Hive. This also saves the cost of running Hive in the cloud.

Insights with Visual Statistics
Make informed decisions on data movement. Insights consist of two capabilities: Topology and Statistics. With these capabilities, you get key performance metrics on latency and data volumes, as well as meaningful insights on data flows between sources and targets.
This feature uses intuitive visual elements to provide multiple key attributes of every data flow in a single overview, including:
- Direction of the data flow or channel
- Relative number of tables being replicated per node
- Indication of latency, split between Change Data Capture (CDC) and integration
- Indication of whether latency thresholds are exceeded, again split by capture and integration
Topology provides you with live call-out reports giving you deeper insights on your data movement, as well as drilling down into the historical metrics per data flow/channel.
Monitor your data flow in real-time.
As you move high volumes of data across your environment, visibility and management are critical. HVR offers reporting and monitoring features that enable you to monitor your data flow in real-time and get automated error notifications in case something runs amiss.
For deeper analysis, you have the option to output your data into an RDBMS, Excel spreadsheet, or a third-party reporting tool. It can also be integrated into your enterprise monitoring solution including, Slack.
